BUSHMASTER™ CARBINE ARMORER'S COURSE COURSE OBJECTIVES The Bushmaster™ Carbine Armorer's Course is designed to provide all aspects of maintenance, diagnosis, and repair as they relate to the Bushmaster™ XM15E2S and Carbon 15 series of Rifles and Carbines. This will be accomplished by providing participants with a two-day comprehensive course including reference sources, course materials and performance evaluations for participants. Upon completion of the course, graduates will be able to demonstrate proficiency in assembly, disassembly, inspection, testing, gauging, and repair of these firearms. Other topics will include a brief history of the AR15/M16 type rifles and their developmental predecessors; complete theory and function of the XM15E2S operating system; and recommended maintenance schedules and guidlines for departmental armorers. This training concentrates on student learning and performance in a professional setting. Students who complete the Bushmaster™ Armorer's Course will receive a certificate of completion certifying them as a Bushmaster Carbine Armorer for a period of 3 years. During the Course, Bushmaster™ instructors will present the following subjects: Rifle Parts Identification and Basic Function Clearing and Performing Safe Operations History of the "Black Rifle" Operating Principles Lubrication (Type, quantity, and application for XM15E2S) Troubleshooting Procedures | Technical Specifications (20" Bbl. & M4 Carbine) Loading & Unloading Procedures Evolution, Influences, and Bushmaster Beginnings Disassembly / Ispection / Cleaning / Reassembly Function Checks / Gauging including Headspacing Range Procedures & Practical Application |
COURSE PREREQUISITES / REQUIREMENTS - Open to Participants who comply with enrollment criteria.
- Level of Experience: We recommend that all course participants be thoroughly familiar with the information in the Operator's Manual and possess a basic knowledge of carbine operation to include zeroing procedures. A copy of the Bushmaster™ Operating and Safety Manual can be provided if you do not already have one.
- Identification: 2 valid forms of State or Federal Picture Identification.
- Gear List: AR15 style firearm, standard armorer's kit, hammer, flat head srew driver, 50 rounds of ammunition, and note taking materials.
